Maintaining its rustic character, the old quarter of the village consists of stone built houses decorated by wooden balconies and winding stone paved alleys. The quarter has been declared a protected heritage site. Surrounded by thick forest along the tranquil sounds of the river crossing the village, explore the watermills and the stunning bridges found along the river banks.
Explore the villages religious history by visiting the churches dotted around the village. Visit the most recent church of Agios Panteleimonas built in 1994. The church of Saint George the Concessioner found on the north side of the village and built in the 15th century. The church of Panagia Theotokou, built in 1514 and decorated with admirable frescoes from the early 16th century and the church of the Saviour built in 1520. The most notable church is church of Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which is the remnants of an old monastery built in the 11th century.

Visit the Linos museum, housed in a traditional building in the old quarter of the village exhibiting tools used in wine, bread and olive oil making. The olive mill (Eliomylos) museum in the yard og the church of the Saviour and the hero monument dedicated to the fallen heroes of the EOKA Liberation Struggle in 1955.

Irrigated by the river Klarios, the village is famous for its delectable fruit it cultivates, such as apples, peaches, apricots, cherries, damsons and grapes. Tour the magnificent Byzantine churches found within the village. Visit the chapel of the Virgin Mary, boasting frescoes dating back to 1514, the 1513 Agios Sozomenos church found in the centre of the village, the chapel of Agios Georgios and the chapel of Agia Paraskevi. The most notable church being the Panagia of Podithos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main village church is dedicated to Panagia Odigitria, built in 1930, housing sacred vessels, vestments and a Gospel dating back to 1745.

The small village of Spilia, is perched up at an altitude of 1100 meters, on the foothills of the Troodos mountains. Nestled within dense forest, the village was built during the 16th century, when the Monastery of Panayia Chrysokourdaliotissa was built. The area consists of two regions separated by only 1km Spilia and Kourdali. Journey through history by visiting the ruins of chapels located on the river bank as well as the monastery in Kourdali, a 16th century build housing ancient Byzantone icons and frescoes. Admire the 1850 church in Spilia, with a unique belfry, consisting of a towering pine tree. Find near it the olive mill, dating back to 1984.
Adventure into one of the nature trails, relax at one of the traditional cafes or eat up at the local restaurants. Sample delectable homemade bread at the local bakeries, the famous dries figs or walnuts, the delicacy of soutzioukkos and learn about the distillation of the local spirit of ‘zivania’.

With high annual rainfall and the beneficial help of the river, fruit trees such as apple, pears, plums, apricots and peach trees, almond, olive trees and vines thrive in the area. The village is renowned for its excellent quality of apples.
Visit the church of Agia Marina, built in 1872, located in the village centre and the gothic stule church of Agios Georgios. Admire rural architecture at the must-see old waters mills ‘Mill of Styllis.
The most notable site, is the historic Cyprus Railway Museum, a relic of Cypriot history of the short lived railway station which operated in 1950 until 1951. The Cyprus Government Railway extended from Famagusta in the east to Morfou in the west. Now all it remains is the stone built building in the last stop of the railway, now housing original documents, photos, scale models and various objects from the old railway.

Take a stroll in the village and damorethe church of Agios Ioannis Theologos, built in 1870, the church of Agia Paraskevi and the Monastery of Panagia Skouriotissa.
The village is located near the Skouriotissa copper mine, a precious metal which made the island a outrivalling trader in the Mediterranean. It is the only active mine in the island today. Learn more about history, by visiting the Museum of Mining Heritage, located in the village centre, exhibiting tolls used by the mines, images of the mines and object made with copper raw material.
Aditinally, visit the old railway, the Workshop of Plaster statues or relax at the community park found at the north hills of the village. Admire the verdant valley of Clarios, the deep blue sea of Morfou bay and the historic mine of Foukasa.

Encounter stunning churched dotted around the village, such as the 12th century church of Saints Ioakim and Anna, in the village centre. Boasting a few yet striking frescoes, the most notable one that of Saint Saranta, which dates back to the 12th century, as well as a portable icon of Panagia Kalionitissa, which dates back to the 13th century. Visit the church of Panagia Iamatiki, built in 1993, in the place of an old ruined church.
At the village entrance discover the old water mill well as the old unique hand-operated olive mill located within the village. The pride and joy of the community is the 1900 old mansion known as Kallianas Station, which used to function as an inn for travellers in the past. Admire an excellent example of folk architecture and history with a two –story design decorated with arches. Now it has been declared a monument and has been restored, now functioning as a cultural centre. Next to it find the Agios Irakleidios bridge joining the coast of the river.
Visit the village to sample delectable local cuisine as well as the traditional spirit of ‘Zivania’ distilled in the old-fashioned way.

Its named originates from the homonymous church of ‘Agios Theodoros o Stratilatis’ built amongst the fields of the village and the banks of a tributary. It dates back to the 18th century, boasting the icons of the Saint and charming architecture with a stone build, high bell tower and a wooden roof.
The village’s history dates back to ancient times, since recent excavations uncovered a statuette of the God Eros as well as findings suggesting the excavation and processing of copper. Admire the historic fountain of ‘Krya Vrisi’ the only water sourced for the village until 1950 as well as the picturesque bridge connecting the river banks and the village.
Visit the village on February 8th, where the village celebrates its saint, and pilgrims from around the village and the neighbouring villages of the valley gather to rejoice.

Visit the oldest church of the community, Agios Georgios Lambadoforos church, built in 1722, now protected by the Department of Antiquities. Housed inside is the old wooden iconostasi and the icon of Saint George. Another notable church is the church of Agio Dimitrianos, built in the 19th century, boasting a tall bell tower and a magnificent iconostasi inside. Finally, on the east side of the village, find the chapel of Panagia Kousouliotissa.

Trek among the narrow cobbled alleys, decorated by the traditional folk houses, built one above the other, and admire the picturesque environs enhanced by the unspoilt nature.
Visit the two village churched, both dedicated to Saint John Theologist. The old church of Agios Ioannis Theologos, located near the village exit, is a 14th century build and under the protection of the Department of Antiquities. It has undertaken the restoration and maintenance of the church and proclaimed it an Ancient Monument B’. Housed within are remarkable icons, dating back to the 16th century. The newer church is located in the village center and was completed in 1965.
